Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the foundational knowledge to jumpstart their careers while at the same time preparing them for continuing education. Students who complete a CTE program graduate with more than just a diploma. Many graduate with not only a skill set that prepares them for the world of work, but also a nationally recognized certification or state licenses. CTE courses provide students with the opportunity to develop industry contacts to build re´sume´s that can be used for future employment programs in apprenticeships, two- and four-year college, and private career schools. The programs we offer at CTE help strengthen academic achievement, enhance leadership and employable skills, provide hands-on applications of academic concepts. Many offer the opportunity to gain college credit while in high school. In short, taking a Career and Technical Education program while in high school is a decision that “pays” as you prepare for the future.
