State Course Title: Graphic Imaging Technology I, Graphic Imaging Technology II.
Graphic Communications is designed to introduce the student to the world of printing and related areas. Students learn to develop techniques to manage and control production printing using 21st-century skills, develop skills in digital composition & printing, wide format printing and collating/binding operations and the material used with each and to learn the difference between Silk Screening, Heat Transfer Vinyl & Vinyl Film and produce graphics with them.
In the second-year course, students increase their knowledge by working on more complex projects. Students are given the opportunity to run large print jobs using the latest digital printing equipment and to specialize in areas of prime interest. With the approval and recommendation of the teacher, students may spend time in actual work experiences in a printing company during the second semester.
Students can become certified in the following area(s):
- PrintED Certification
The cost of taking the certification test is paid for by Henrico County Public Schools.
