Iron Worker

Also known as structural steel workers who raise, place, and attach girders, large beams, trusses, columns, and other structural steel parts to form completed structures or frameworks. Ironworkers perform heavy rigging, the lifting and sliding of heavy loads, equipment or material.  Fabricating iron workers measure and mark reference points and dimensions on structural steel pieces for drilling or punching holes for fabricating, welding and assembling into the framework of structures, buildings, bridges, and other structural metal objects. Reinforcing iron workers position and secure steel bars, rods or wire mesh in concrete forms to reinforce the concrete walls, floors, bridges, or other structures.
