Laborers work on almost all construction sites, performing a wide range of tasks from the very easy to the extremely difficult. Laborers tend brick masons by stocking supplies, mixing mortar and doing general clean up. Although many of the tasks they do require training and experience; some tasks usually require little skill and can be learned quickly. The laborer uses a variety of tools and equipment. Some tools are simple, such as brooms and shovels; other equipment is more sophisticated, such as pavement breakers, jackhammers and earth tampers. Some construction trades such as bricklayers, brickmasons and carpenters use laborer helpers to assist with a variety of basic tasks.
