The sheet metal worker fabricates, assembles, welds, installs and repairs sheet metal products and equipment such as duct work and furnace control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators, and casings according to blueprints. Sheet metal workers may specialize according to the type of metal used, such as tin or copper, or according to activities performed, such as lay-out work, fabricating, machine operation, installation work, or maintenance work.
