Our ACE Center at Highland Springs Carpentry and CAD students designed and built a castle playhouse for the CASA for Children organization. It was one of 5 playhouses built by different contractors for CASA’s “Home for Good” event. Well, the playhouses have been auctioned off and the winners now have their new playhouses. CASA just announced that they were able to raise $95,000 from the playhouse auction. It was an amazing experience for our students as well as our Department of Workforce & Career Development family. Please have a look at a video that was recently sent to us from CASA. Click here for the video.

Busy Day At Regency Project
Various ACE Center trade students at the Regency Project are working to eventually turn storefronts into classrooms. Right now, students are removing store fixtures left behind when each
store was closed. The electricity students are checking for any electrical problems and making sure all the panel boxes are properly marked and that all breakers are functioning.
We had a visit to our project site by Jeff Lewis, Vice President of Inspections with VSC Fire & Security Inc., and Bob Beckwith, President of United Sprinkler CO., Inc to talk about how they might be able to bring their expertise to this project.
